Moooi leads the understanding of culture, human needs and technology, contributes by creating the most successful innovative design-collection ever and creates unprecedented. Mooi is a Dutch word meaning "nice", "clean" design, so Moooi added the third "o" to show that they meant to do one better. Moooi first presented her innovative collection, under creative direction of Marcel Wanders, at the Salone del Mobile in Milano, April 2001. Since then a lot has happened. Moooi has started a cooperation with some of the absolutely greatest international creative people like, Ross Lovegrove, Li Edelkoort, Erwin Olaf, Joep van Lieshout and Jurgen Bey. It is Moooi's challenge to positively influence the lives of all people it touches with her work, to be an inspiration to many and to grow out to be a legendary company in the international design arena.
See more from MoooiAn artist and designer with an interest in textiles, Bertjan Pot graduated in 1998 from the Design Academy Eindhoven (NL), department Man and Identity. In this department - with head of department Ulf Moritz - Pot discovered his fascination for textiles, producing one of his first works: Knitted Lamp. From there, he participated in a number of exhibitions including A Fine Mess (Netherlands, 2004), Post Fossil (Tokyo, 2010), Masks (Australia, 2012) and beyond. His works are featured in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam and the MoMa in New York.
A fascination for techniques, structures, patterns and colors lead him to interior product design, collaborating with brands like Moooi, Nike, Cassina, Goods and dozens more. Over the years, Bertjan won several awards for outstanding design, and eventually established Studio Bertjan Pot where he continues to experiment with cutting edge technology and innovative textiles. His collections for Moooi - Heracleum, Random, Non Random and Prop - have become some of the most lauded fixtures of the 21st century.
